PLN appoints Sumitomo contractor to develop N. Sulawesi geothermal plant

State electricity firm PLN will appoint Japanese firm Sumitomo Corp as EPC contractor to develop the fourth unit of Lahendong geothermal power plant in North Sulawesi.

PLN?s Director Bambang Praptomo said the unit will have capacity of 20MW. Contract signing is expected early next year with completion seen in 2012, he said quoted as saying by Koran Tempo daily on Thursday.

Bambang said the project will cost US$20 million and will be funded by loan from Asian development Bank. (*)
