State-owned electricity firm PT PLN said it has approved a request from IDX-listed cement maker giant PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa for higher power capacity from 180 MVA to 220 MVA in the second semester of this year.
PLN said in a statement on Wednesday that this has made Indocement to become PLN?s largest single customer in the West Java system.
PLN said the request for extra power supply was made in line with Indocement?s plan to expand production capacity of its cement manufacturing facility in Citeureup, Bogor Regency, West Java Province.
Elsewhere, PLN said that in a bid to meet growing power demand in Bogor, the company will add new transformers at two sub-stations, namely Semen Baru sub-station (installing another 2x60 MVA), and Sentul sub-station, adding another 1x60 MVA.
