PLN asked to relocate Arun gas-fired power plant to Riau

Vice President Jusuf Kalla has asked state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to study the possibility of relocating the Arun gas turbine power plant in Lhokseumawe, the Naggroe Aceh Darrusalam (NAD) province to Riau on gas supply problem, Investor Daily reported Wednesday.

 

PLN’s president director Eddie Widiono said that the 3x20 MW Arun gas-fired power plant has stopped operation due to the lack of gas supply.

 

“Gas is available in Riau. We have been asked by the vice president to study the possibility of relocating the Arun gas turbine power plant to Riau. But it is under study,” he said in Jakarta on Tuesday. (*)
