PLN asks for debt write off

President of state electricity firm PLN Kuntoro Mangkusubroto asked for a debt write off amounting to Rp 20 trillion to make the company bankable to ask for investor financing to develop various projects in the future.
Kuntoro also demanded that PLN to be given the full authority to decide which investment opportunities to be made.
He said that so far it's the government through the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), which had been making the investment decision. (*)
