PLN, Banpu sign S. Kalimantan coal supply contract extension

State electricity firm PLN and South Kalimantan coal mining firm PT. Jorong Barutama Greston, a unit of Thai energy conglomerate Banpu Pcl had signed extension contract to supply coal to the former?s 130 MW Asam-Asam power plant in South Kalimantan, a Banpu Indonesia official said Monday.

Banpu Indonesia senior official Leksono Poeranto told Petromindo.Com that the extension was signed for 5 years, starting November this year. Jorong will supply 300,000 tons of coal per year to Asam-Asam. He did not disclose pricing formula for the contract.

Jorong is expected produce 3 million tons of coal in 2005, similar to 2004 production level. (godang)
