PLN Batubara gets new boss

To supply 5 million tons of coal next year

PT PLN Batubara, the coal trading unit of state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will supply 5 million tons of coal to PLN?s power plants in 2011 compared with this year?s target of 3 million tons, the new company?s president director said.

Khairil Wahyuni, who was installed earlier today as PLN's new president director replacing Indriantono, said that PLN Batubara is expected to get the majority of coal supply from Kalimantan coal miners, but he did not divulge the names of coal suppliers.

He said that in the long-term plan, PLN Batubara will acquire coal mines in Indonesia. ?Currently, we are studying to acquire coal mines in East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, South Sumatra and Papua,? he said without giving further details.

In the installment ceremony, besides Khairil, Pudji Widodo was elected as new operation director. The new finance and administration director now is Toharuddin. (godang)
