PLN Batubara installs power plant coal dryer facility

PLN Batubara, a coal trading unit of the state-owned electricity company PT PLN is currently constructing a coal dryer facility to upgrade the coal quality which would be installed at coal-fired power plant (PLTU) at Labuan site in Banten, the official said.
?The facility is expected to increase coal quality up to 1000 kcal/kg,? Helmi Najamuddin, head of coal division at the PLN said, adding that the facility was expected to be operated this year.
PLN, the country?s largest buyer of coal said that the company also planned to install the coal dryer facility in Rembang power plant in Semarang.
