PLN Batubara to supply 5 million tons of coal to PLN in 2012

PT PLN Batubara, a coal trading unit of state-owned utility company PT PLN targets to supply five million tons of coal to the PLN this year, increased from three million tons in 2011, official said.
PLN Batubara, a company set up in 2010, directly purchased the coal from its trading partners and coal miners.
?We plan to supply five million tons of coal to PLN this year,? the source said, adding that the company has a target to meet at least 20 percent of PLN?s total demand of coal in the future.
The source said that the company had conducted some mining activities in cooperation with coal concession holders in Jambi, South Sumatra and Papua with agreement that the coal output would be supplied to PLN.
?We have also signed a long-term contract with a coal miner in Kalimantan to secure our coal supply,? the source said.
