PLN, BPPT sign agreement on renewable energy

The agreement which was signed in Jakarta on Friday by PLN?s president Nur Pamudji and BPPT chairman Marzan A Iskandar would be used as a guideline to further deepen the cooperation between the two organizations which have begun since early 2009.
PLN said that the cooperation was also expected to encourage joint researches between research agencies and industries. Under the cooperation agreement, BPPT will get a wider coverage of studies and research activities with the state electricity company.
At present, PLN has cooperated with a number of universities such as the the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and the Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS) in conducting studies such as on reverse engineering in order to promote the availability and reliability of power generation unit. (*)
