State electricity firm PT PLN said it plans to cooperate with BUMD Mandiri Nunukan, an East Kalimantan local government owned firm, to deliver compressed natural gas (CNG) via marine transportation from Simenggaris Block, to PLN?s power plant in Nunukan Tarakan.

Simenggaris block is operated by PT Medco EP Indonesia, a subsidiary of listed oil and gas company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk.

The delivery of CNG aims to cover growing gas needs as fuel for the power plant.
