PLN buys gas through Hungarian trader

?Physically, the LNG will come from Qatar. But PLN will buy it through a trader of Hungary. I met the trader on Thursday to discuss about the planned purchase of gas,? said Energy and Mineral Resources Vice Minister Rudi Rubiandini in Jakarta on Thursday.
Speaking on the sidelines of a seminar on the data management of oil and gas general survey, Rudi noted that the gas sale and purchase contract would only last for two years, from 2013 to 2014.
?After that we?ll need more, at around 7 million tons per year. But we?ll talk about that later,? he said.
He added from the year 2015, Indonesia, which is seeing an increasing local demand for gas, will need more gas as the LNG terminal Arun, Aceh, and other FSRUs (floating storage and regassification units) in Lampung and Semarang are expected to start operation since 2015.
On the gas price, Rudi said that it was up to PLN. ?But we propose the price will be between US$8 and US$11 per mmbtu, just at the level agreed for the Tangguh gas diverted from Sempra,? he said. (*)
