PLN buys power from PLTM Welesi block II

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has approved PT PLN?s purchase of electricity generated from mini hydro PLTM Welesi power plant block II belonging to independent power producer PT Bumi Cendrawasih Jayawijaya.
The purchase agreement sets the price at Rp 1,818.90 per kilowatt hour over a 30-year period. The power plant has the capacity of 6x1 MW.
The price assumes rupiah exchange rate at Rp 8,600 per dollar, an 80% capacity factor, and the availability of some 42,048,000 kwh per year. Commercial Operation Date is scheduled for 2013.
