PLN completes 1st stage of S. Kalimantan power plant project

The state electricity company PLN has completed the first stage of its major coal-fired power plant project in the Desa Asam-Asam village, in Jorong district, South Kalimantan, the local Banjarmasin Post daily reported Friday.
The paper said that PLN had completed the construction of two unit machinery, each with 65MW capacity. The company is supposed to construct four unit machinery.
Head of PLN Pikitring unit Mustamir Irris was optimistic that the company could completed the project by 2003.(*)
