State-owned electricity company PT PLN has cut down the power tariffs for customers subscribing to capacity of 3,500 VA and beyond for the month of October.
?For October, the adjustment tariff is reduced again,? said Head of Commercial Division at PLN, Benny Marbun, to Petromindo.com Tuesday.
He said that the tariff cut is in line with lower oil price and inflation rate. He said that the Indonesia crude price in August fell to $42.81 per barrel in August from $51.82 per barrel in July, while inflation rate weakened to 0.39 percent from 0.93 percent.
The rupiah, however, slightly weakened to Rp 13,782 per US dollar in August from Rp 13,375 in July.
The electricity tariff for customers in the low voltage category has been reduced Rp 1,507 per kWh in October from Rp 1,523 per kWh. For medium voltage category customers, the tariff has been reduced to Rp 1,187 per kWh from Rp 1,200 kWh.
Meanwhile, the tariff for customers in the high voltage category has been cut down to Rp 1,058 per kWh from Rp 1,070 per kWh.
