State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has delayed an earlier plan to hold a repeat tender this month for five gas engine power plant (PLTMG) projects in Papua and Maluku regions.

PLN Director of Business for Papua and Maluku Region, Ahmad Rofiq told Petromindo.com on Friday that technical and administrative preparations have yet to be completed.

He, however, said that the repeat tender is still expected to be held this year in the hope that the PLTMGs can start operation in 2019.

The five PLTMG projects include PLTMG Malifut 5 MW, PLTMG Namlea 10 MW, PLTMG Dobo 10 MW, PLTMG Saumlaki 10 MW, and PLTMG Serui-1 10 MW.

The power plant projects were supposed to start construction this year, but PLN decided to repeat tender held early this year to select the contractors.
