PLN delays to Apr 5 announcement of Muara Tawar tender winner
Thursday, April 3 2003 - 03:48 AM WIB
The delay was meant to give PLN some more time to complete evaluation over tender proposals it had received from contractors, the paper quoted as saying PLN?s finance director Parno Isworo.
?No, no yet. Just wait, and we will announce winners after we have finished with the evaluation,? Parno said Wednesday.
Meanwhile, PLN?s corporate secretary Muldjo Adji AG said that his company would announce winner(s) of the Muara Tawar tender by April 5.
Earlier reports said that three consortiums had submitted bids to build the 6x100 megawatt-power plant. Each of the consortiums was led by an Indonesian firm.
PT Matlamat Cakra Canggih led the first consortium with Marubeni Corp (Japan), Alstom Power Esi and Alstom Switzerland Ltd (Switzerland) as consortium members.
PT Rekayasa Industri led the second consortium which had Imeco Inter Sarana and Sumitomo Corp. (Japan) as members.
Meanwhile, the third consortium comprised of PT Balfour Beatty Sakti, Simens (Germany) and Samsung (South Korea).
Muara Tawar plant is part of PLN?s priority program to cope with electricity supply shortage in Java and Bali. (*)
