State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has delivered five additional diesel power generators to Dobo city, the capital of Aru Islands Regency, in Maluku Province, to help increase power supply in the city.
Adriansyah, a manager at PLN said in a statement Thursday that the five generators, each with capacity of 850 kW, arrived on Wednesday in Dobo to be installed at the Wamar diesel-fired power plant and to start operation in the third week of March.
In December of last year, three diesel generators each with capacity of 500 kW were shipped in to Dobo.
Adriansyah said that Dobo currently has installed power capacity of 3.25 MW, and peak load of 3.4 MW. The operation of the five new generators will increase power supply to 6.25 MW, allowing Dobo to have extra power reserves of 2.85 MW.
