PLN develops electricity distribution network in Pulau Manis

State-owned electricity firm PT. PLN has started construction of electricity distribution facilities on Pulau Manis Island in Batam, Riau Islands Province, to facilitate the distribution of power to Fantasy Island Resort owned by developer PT Batam Island Marina.

Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday that PLN via its subsidiary Bright PLN Batam has signed an agreement with Batam Island Marina, under which the former would supply electricity to Fantasy Island Resort from a 1.6 MW capacity CNG-based power plant. The capacity can be later increased, the paper quoted President Director of Bright PLN Batam, Dadan Kurniadipura as saying.

Construction work is expected to be completed in December of 2014, the paper said. Facilities to be developed include 6,600 meters of medium-voltage power distribution seals, 46,500 meters of low-voltage seals, six electricit sub-stations, and six transformers. (*)
