PLN develops four coal-fired plants in Bangka Belitung

State-owned electricity company PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is currently in the process of developing four coal-fired power plants with a combined capacity of 165 MW in Bangka Belitung province to increase electricity supply in the region.
General Manager of PLN for Bangka Belitung province Zulfarida Paluzi was quoted by Bangka Pos daily as saying that a 2x30 MW coal-fired power plant in Bangka Regency is expected to start operation before the end of this year.
Another 2x30 MW power plant, also in Bangka, is projected to begin operation in 2014 or 2015. In Belitung Timur, a 2x15 MW power plant and a 2x17.5 MW power plant will operate also in 2014 or 2015. (*)
