PLN energizes two relay stations in W. Java

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has activated new transformers at two relay stations in West Java to help meet rising electricity demand in the regions.

PLN said in a statement that the Raja Paksi relay station in Cibitung, Bekasi, has been energized with three transformers each with capacity of 60 MVA to help increase power supply particularly to meet growing demand from PT Gunung Raka Paksi and other industries in Cibitung and Cikarang industrial areas.

PLN said that power demand from industries in Bekasi in the January-August period of this year increased by 10.9 percent to 3.1 TWh from 2.8 TWh in the corresponding period of last year.

The utility company said it has energized a new transformer with capacity of 30 MVA at the Pameungpeuk relay station in Garu, West Java, to help meet power demand from new customers in the region.
