PLN enters coal mining business

State owned electricity company PLN will enter coal mining business through its subsidiary PLN Batubara which will cooperate with coal mine concession owners in coal production.
?We hope PLN Batubara which is now only engaged in coal trading will also engage in coal mining operation,? Helmi Najamuddin, the head of coal division at PLN, told Petromindo.com.
He hoped that the subsidiary would begin its involvement in coal mining this year.
PLN Batura expects to jointly develop several coal mines including a coal mine in Nagan Raya, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.
