State-owned electricity firm PT PLN said that 11 companies have received request for proposal (RFP) over a previously announced LNG supply tender.

PLN expects bid submission from the companies in November of this year.

?There were 11 companies which were present to hear explanation about the request for proposal, and we have scheduled bid submission in November 2017,? Head of Fuel and Gas Division at PLN, Chairani Rachmatullah told Petromindo.com on Monday.

A source told this portal that two of the tender participants are a consortium of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and IDX-listed gas distribution firm PT PGN, and Japan?s Marubeni Corp.

PLN announced the tender for LNG supply for power plant projects in the central part of the country last year. In May of this year, PLN Procurement Director Supangkat Iwan Satoso said the tender was expected to be concluded at the end of this year, a delay from the initial schedule of 2016.

Supangkat said that the company was seeking for gas supply of as much as 200 mmscfd. The company initially hoped that LNG delivery can start in 2019.
