State-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negera (PLN) is seek to obtain liquefied natural gas (LNG)supply from the Tangguh gas field for its LNG terminal in Cilegon, West Java.

The terminal in Cilegon will be built by PLN itself.

PLN’s director of primary energy and power generation Ali Herman said the gas supply from Tangguh is needed to provide gas to several gas-fired power plants in the Java-Bali power generation system.

“We expect that gas from Tangguh will be supplied to that terminal (at Cilegon). If the train C is built , we can accommodate five more tons at the terminal.” Ali said in Jakarta on Wednesday.(Godang)
