PLN eyeing LNG supply from Masela

State electricity firm PLN said it had approached Japanese firm Inpex Corp. over the possibility to get supply from Masela LNG plant project in Timor Sea.

PLN?s Head Of Primary Fuel Nasri Sebayang said LNG supply from Inpex? proposed LNG plant would increase the economics of the LNG receiving terminal PLN and its two partners; state gas distribution firm PGN and Pertamina are planning to build in West Java.

Sebayang said the ideal capacity for the receiving terminal would be 4 million tonnes per annum. Thus far, the consortium has get 1MTPA allocation from BP-operated Tangguh future expansion and 1.5MTPA from Bontang, he said.

Inpex is planning to build a 4.5MTPA floating LNG plant in Masela, with operations seen in 2014-15.(godang)
