The state-owned electricity company PLN is eying four locations belonging to other power investors who were also planning to develop power-generating units on the locations.

A source told Petromindo.com that wanted to develop power-generating units on the locations to anticipate surging power demand in 2004.

The source added that PLN was now lobbying the government intensively.

The four locations include the 2x250 MW steam power-generating unit in Serang whose license is held by businessman Mohamad Bob Hasan; the 2x400 MW steam power-generating units whose license is held by businessman Eka Tjipta Widjaja, and two other units in Cibuni and Pengalengan. The owner of the licenses for the last two units are not known.(R. Amoros)
