State-owned electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) is seeking to collaborate with France’s Geothermie de Bagneux (GEODEEP) in geothermal power development in Indonesia.

This was revealed by Hartanto Wibowo, Director of Corporate Planning and Business Development of PLN, during his recent visit to Paris.  "We invite GEODEEP to collaborate in geothermal development to bring great benefits to both parties," Hartanto said in a statement.

He added that PLN's visit to France was to bring geothermal technology developed by GEODEEP to Indonesia.

Vice President of GEODEEP, Sylvain Brogle, welcomed the meeting with PLN and hoped that the collaboration could be realized soon. "We are confident that we can help PLN and Indonesia to realize decarbonization as well as support the government's efforts to maximize geothermal in Indonesia," he said.

GEODEEP is a French multi-disciplinary cluster that brings together major global companies and companies specialized in geothermal engineering and power plant EPC. Some of the well-known cluster members of the GEODEEP in Indonesia are Engie, SLB, and Vallourec.
