PLN gets eur 275 million loan for Takalar power plant

State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has received a loan of 275 million euros (around US$340 million) from Spain to build 2x100 megawatt Takalar coal-fired power plant.

PLN?s deputy director of planning Bambang Hermawanto said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the plant would be built to overcome the power crisis in South and Southeast Sulawesi provinces.

He hoped that the construction of the plant would begin next year.

Takalar plant is located at Jeneponto, South Sulawesi. (godang)
