PLN guarantees enough power supply during dry season

"There is nothing to worry about because it will unlikely that there will be long dry season," PLN's president director Eddie Widiono said in Jakarta on Monday. He said if the dry season took place much longer than the company's expectation, PLN would try to increase the power supply from its coal and gas fired power plants.
Eddie said that with the current production capacity of 19,600 MW, PLN would still have more than enough power supply to meet the demand. "There is no problem with the electricity supply as long as the supply of fuel and gas is not disrupted," he added.
Normally, a prolonged dry season will result in the sharp decline in the water supply for the country's hydro power plants. As the result, most of the hydro power plants could not operate at their full capacity.(*)
