State owned electricity company PLN in Bangka still relies on the power supply from state owned tin mining company PT Timah in providing electricity to the company's customers in the regency's capital of Pangkal Pinang.

A senior official of the electricity company in Palembang said that the power supply from PLN had been cut in several parts of the regency due to a damage in the company's power generators.

"The people should to take turns in getting the power supply due to the damage in the power generators," he was quoted as saying by Sumatera Express daily.

He said PLN had for years cooperated with PT Timah in providing the electricity in the regency. "But unfortunately, some of PT Timah's power generators also broke down," he said, hoping that the tin mining company would continue their cooperation and repair the stalled power generators. (*)
