PLN in talks with three coal firms for possible acquisition

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN said it has been in talks with three coal mining companies in Sumatra and Kalimantan for possible acquisition or cooperation to help ensure coal supply for its power plants.
This was said by PLN Coal Division Head, Harlen to Petromindo.com on Monday on the sidelines of a coal conference in Bali. ?We have been engaged in talks with three (coal firms) in Sumatra and Kalimantan,? he said, but did not disclose the name of the companies.
He added that PLN was looking to acquire up to 51 percent shares in the target company.
