PLN increases electricity tariff

The company said in a statement last week that the increase in the tariffs was made in adjustment to the weakening of the rupiah against the US dollar, rising oil price, and higher inflation rate.
According to PLN website, the electricity tariff of R-2 household customers with capacity of 3,500 volt ampere (VA) ? 5,500 VA has been increased to Rp 1,524.24 per kWh from Rp 1,514.81 per kWh in May.
Other groups of customers whose tariffs are also increased include the R-3 (up to Rp 1,524.24 per kWh in June from Rp 1,514.81 per kWh in May), B-2 (up to Rp 1,524.24 per kWh from Rp 1,514.81 per kWh), B-3 (up to Rp 1,115.60 per kWh from Rp 1108.70 per kWh), I-3 (up to Rp 1,115.60 per kWh from Rp 1108.70 per kWh), I-4 (up to 1,070.42 per kWh from Rp 1,063.80 per kWh), P-I (up to Rp 1,524.24 per kWh from Rp 1,514.81 per kWh), P-2 (up to Rp 1,115.60 per kWh from Rp 1,108.70 per kWh), P-3 (up to Rp 1,524.24 per kWh from Rp 1,514.81 per kWh), and L/TR, TM, TT category (up to Rp 1,661.01 per kWh from Rp 1,650.73 per kWh in May).
PLN said that the tariff of household customers with capacity of 1,300 VA and 2,200 VA was maintained at Rp 1,352 per kWh until December 2015. The tariffs of small household customers (400 VA and 900 VA), and small to medium-scale enterprises are also not increased.
