PLN increases price of non-subsidized electricity

State-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) said it has increased the price of non-subsidized electricity for certain group of consumers.
The company said in a statement obtained Saturday that the affected consumers include household consumers in the 3,500 VA-capacity and above category, business consumers and government offices subscribing 6,600 VA-capacity, industries subscribing above 200,000 VA-capacity, street lights, and special services.
According to PLN website, the electricity tariff of these five categories of consumers is now set at Rp 465.89 per KWh, effective April.
Meanwhile, PLN maintained the power tariff of consumers in the 1,300 VA and 2,200 VA categories as their tariffs had already gradually increased from July to November of last year.
