PLN: Invitation for Java Bali power transmission system bids

The Republic of Indonesia has received a loan from The Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Power Transmission Improvement Sector Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued. PT PLN (Persero), the Employer, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders from member countries of ADB for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of:

Java - Bali Power Transmission System
Package B-6: Extension of 5001150 kV Substations in Java

(Details and specifications are provided in the Bidding Document).
International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB?s single stage one envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries. The Bidders shall have specific experience to built 500 kV substations successfully in at least 2 contracts within the last ten years.

To purchase the bidding Document in English, eligible bidders or their authorized representative shall:
? Register to the address above beginning on 4 July 2008.
? Pay a non-refundable fee of LDR 4.5 million or USD 500.- in cash.

The bidding document may be sent by mail or courier for an additional fee of IDR 450.000 or USD 50.-

Site visit will be carried out from 21 -23 July 2008 and the Pre-bid Conference will be held at the above address on 24 July 2008.

Bidders should deliver their bids:

? On or before 16 September 2008
? Together with Bid Security of not less than: USD 507,000.- or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

Late bids will be rejected.
Bids will be opened immediately at the address above in the presence of the bidders representatives who choose to attend.

The Employer will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.

In the comparison of bids, ADB?s Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
