PLN invites bidders to participate in LCV coal supply retender for Tanjung Jati B

PT Pembangkitan Tanjung Jati B, a subsidiary of state owned electricity firm PT PLN, is inviting coal mining companies to participate in the tender for the supplly of low-calorific coal for its Tanjung Jati B power plant in Jepara, Central Java.

 

The company said in an advertisement published on Monday in Media Indonesia that interested bidders should propose a coal supply of between 300,000 and one million tons for a period of one year starting January 2008 as a tentative schedule.

 

"In the case that the awarded  Bidder’s proposal with the lowest evaluated price supply in the quantity less than 1.0 million ton, PLN in his sole discretion appoint the second lowest evaluated price to supply the balance of the quantity with the price of the lowest evaluated price," the firm said.

 

The calorific value of the coal should be above 5,100 kcal/kg on gross as received basis, the company said, adding that the coal should be delivered on CIF basis, with bidders’ guaranteed loading rate at port of loading using handymax or panamax size of vessel (up to 70,000 DWT).

 

Potential bidders should hold either a Coal Contract of Work (PKP2B) or Mining Authorization (KP ), and have an Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) approved by the government. Furthermore, each of the bidders have to prove that it was a reliable supplier with a minimum delivery of 500,000 tons of coal over the past 12 months.

 

Interested companies may get more information and purchase the RFP (request for proposal) document at the cost of Rp 3 million starting from September 25, 2007 at the firm's head office. (Bodega)
