PLN invites limited bidders for development of Sarulla geothermal project

1. PT PLN (Persero) hereby invites limited bidders for development of the Sarulla North Sumatra Geothermal Project with total capacity estimated in excess of 300 MW.
2. PLN has acquire all rights for the development of the Sarulla Geothermal Field, including the right to develop the projects as a contractor to PT Pertamina (Persero), the owner of concession for the Sarulla Geothermal Field, through the JOC (Joint Operation Contract) as well as the right to sell electricity to PLN under the ESC (Energy Sales Contract)
3. The interested parties will acquire all such rights from PLN, including the right to develop the project as the contractor to Pertamina, under the terms of the modified existing JOC for Sarulla, and will propose the price for selling Electricity to PLN under the terms of the modified existing ESC for Sarulla
4. PLN is about to send a request for proposal (?RFP?) to certain parties experienced in geothermal development invitation for this limited bids is also open to the other interested parties, either domestic or foreign. For the purpose of this invitation, parties may be companies, corporation, firms, joint ventures or other entities, having the following qualification:
- Experience in developing or operating of geothermal fields or other similar mining fields such as gas and oil fields; and
- Experience in developing or operating power plant at least 30 MW in size; and
- Sound financial capability
5. Interested parties should submit their expression of interest to PLN including evidence of qualification in item 4 above and a copy of their latest Financial Report and Company Profile to the address below by 10.00 of March 30, 2004.

Bidders submitting their expression of interest after the date mentioned above will not consider and will be reject by PLN.
6. RFP will issue only to those parties meeting qualification requirement above. The successful party shall constitute a Project Company in a form of limited liability entity (Badan Hukum) according to Indonesia laws and regulations, and will be required to enter into JOC with Pertamina, and together with Pertamina to enter into an ESC with PLN.
