State electricity firm PLN said it was in talks with PT.Krakatau Daya Listik (KDL), an electricity generating unit of state steel maker PT. Krakatau Steel to divert the latter?s gas supply to PLN?s Cilegon power plant.

PLN?s Director Ali Herman Ibrahim told reporters on Thursday that PLN was looking for additional supply of 40MMCFD from KDL to meet requirement of 110-120MMCFD. Cilegon has been supplied by CNOOC from its offshore Pabelokan gas field in western part of Java.

Ali said in return for KDL?s gas supply, PLN would get electricity from Cilegon power plant.
