State electricity firm PLN said on Monday talks were ongoing with South Korean power company Korean Electricity Power Corporation (KEPCO) to build 2x500 combined?cycle power plant in West Java with completion expected 2007-2008.
?PLN and KEPCO are now negotiating, and hopefully, can be concluded soon,? said PLN president Eddie Widiono.
Eddie however, said that the exact location of the planned power plant had not been decided.
The project was part of bilateral agreement between Indonesia and South Korea, where KEPCO was proposing to buy Indonesia?s LNG in return for concession to build power plant in Indonesia which are projected to experience power supply shortage in the next few years. (arry)
