PLN: LNG tender to be completed end 2017

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN aims to complete the ongoing tender for the supply of LNG for power plant projects in the central part of the country by the end of 2017, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Friday.
The paper quoted PLN Procurement Director Supangkat Iwan Santoso as saying that the company was seeking for gas supply of as much as 200 mmscfd.
He added that the tender process is currently in progress with the company still accepting proposals from tender participants. ?It (tender process) will be concluded at the end of this year,? Supangkat told the paper.
The tender process was initially targeted to be concluded in 2016, in the hope that LNG delivery can start in 2019 as it would take time to complete the required infrastructure facilities such as regasification and storage. The delay in the tender process was due to changes in a number of power plant projects in Kalimantan. (*)
