PLN looks for strategic partners to build power plants outside Java-Bali

PLN is its pre-qualification bid announcement Friday said that interested investors are invited to build coal-fired and gas-fired power plant with capacity of up to 25 MW each.
PLN said investor would build the power plants under build, own and operate scheme, in which PLN would buy electricity generated. PLN said the plants were expected to be in operations between 2006-2008.
PLN said the projects are high priority and it would appoint 10 or more strategic partners to undertake the development of the power plants.
The bid is open for domestic companies or domestic companies with foreign partners.
PLN is also opening looking for strategic partners to build 2x100 MW mine-mouth coal-fired power plants in South Sumatra and 2x65 MW in East or South Kalimantan, with operations commencement seen between 2008-2010.
PLN said contracts for strategic partnership would be no less than 20 years.Under the contract, PLN would buy all electricity generated by the power plants.
Bids will be closed on August 27 and companies which pass pre-qualification would be requested to submit proposal. (alex)
