State-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is expected to start receiving coal bed methane (CBM) gas supply from the Sanga-Sanga field owned by Virginia Indonesia Company in March or April of this year.

PLN Head of Gas and Fuel Division, Suryadi Mardjoeki, said that the CBM gas supply, at a volume of 0.5 mmscfd, will be flowed in to the gas-fired Sanggata power plant in East Kalimantan.

?Initially, the supply will only be small at 0.5 mmscfd, but will (later) increase,? Suryadi told Petromindo.com Friday.

The two companies signed a five-year gas sales contract in April of last year, although the selling price has not been disclosed.
