PLN moves forward in PLTP Tuhelu project

State owned utility firm PT PLN, through subsidiary PT PLN Geothermal, said its geothermal project in Ambon designed to end-up with a geothermal power plant PLTP Tulehu has now entered into drilling activities.
?We have drilled one exploration well, the result is good,? PLN President Director Nur Pamudji told petromindo.com. He did not elaborate, just adding that PLN is now preparing to drill more exploration wells using internal funding.
As for the development of the power plant, PLN is in negotiation with JICA for a potential US$80 million soft loan. The plant, designed with 2x10 MW capacity, is targeted to operate by 2015 or 2016.
