PLN names 15 top officials

State electricity firm PLN has appointed 14 new deputy directors and corporate secretary of the company.

PLN?s human resources development director Djuanda Nugraha said that the 15 officials had passed a fit and proper test conducted by a special team that included company president director Eddie Widiono Suwondo and five deputy directors.

The selection process was the first ever practiced by PLN, and was meant to ensure transparency at the firm, Djuanda said in a statement.

1.Deputy director for the management of contracts with independent power producers: Santosa Gitosusastro
2.Deputy director for primary energy: Tonny Agus Mulyantono
3.Deputy director for environment and electricity safety: Bambang Setiadi
4.Deputy director for system planning: Edi Djatmiko
5.Deputy director for information technology: Zulkifli
6.Deputy director for marketing and business development: Sri Djoko Pararto
7.Deputy director for business capacity development: Sarwono Hardjomuljadi
8.Deputy director for human resources development system: Surjoseno
9.Deputy director for executive development: Assistia J. Semiawan
10.Deputy director for organizational development: Haryo Soetendro
11.Deputy director for finance: Yusuf Hamdani
12.Deputy director for investment management & share ownership: Suyyud
13.Deputy director for treasury: Nandi Arsjad
14.Deputy director for accounting: PC Eddy Sasono
15.Corporate Secretary: Muljo Adji AG

PLN is taking measures to operate more efficiently after the current electricity law which became effective late last year stripped it of nearly all of its preferential rights in the country?s power sector. The law allows PLN to retain monopoly in less-developed areas. (robert/leo)
