The Greater Jakarta distribution unit (Disjaya) of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN now owns several mobile electrical substations called Power Bank.

Disjaya General Manager Syamsul Huda said on Tuesday that the mobile substations will be used for temporary power supplies in construction projects, outdoor events such as music concerts, etc.

He said that the presence of the mobile substations will replace the use of generators, which are deemed costlier and not environmental friendly. He added that the power tariff has been set at Rp 1,650/kWh.

Syamsul said that the company currently has 14 units of mobile power substations each with a capacity of 250 kVa.
