PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP), a subsidiary of Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company PT PLN, is seeking strategic partners for four solar photovoltaic (PV) projects with a combined capacity of 200 MW in East and Central Java, as part of its broader renewable energy expansion program.

The projects, each with a capacity of 50 MW, are located in Pemalang and Batang in Central Java, as well as Sumenep and Paiton in East Java. The partner selection process is being conducted under what PLN Nusantara Power refers to as “Project X Nusantara,” a large-scale renewable energy initiative encompassing solar, wind, and hydropower developments.

Engineering consultancy Synkrona said it has been appointed as one of the technical consultants supporting the strategic partner selection process for the four solar PV projects. The consultancy said the process aims to ensure transparency and technical robustness in selecting project partners.

According to a LinkedIn post by Synkrona, the invitation for the partner selection process was issued on Jan. 12, 2026, with prequalification submissions due by Jan. 31, 2026, at 23:59 local time (GMT+7).

The four solar PV projects form part of Project X Nusantara, a renewables pipeline with a total planned capacity of 1,225.6 MW being developed by PLN Nusantara Power in partnership with strategic investors. The program includes solar, wind and hydropower projects and is intended to support Indonesia’s target to increase the share of renewable energy in its power generation mix.

Indonesia has been seeking to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy to meet its medium- and long-term decarbonisation goals, including a government target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060.
