PLN obtains extra loan from govt

State-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has obtained additional loan from the government via the 2014 state budget to help finance progressing projects, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Thursday.

The paper quoted PLN President Director Nur Pamudji as saying that the government via the state budget in 2013 allocated Rp 529.9 billion loan for the company, but in the 2014 state budget the volume has been expanded to Rp 2.27 trillion.

He said that the additional loan would be used to help finance several power plant and transmission projects which have been progressing well. (*)
