PLN opens PQ for low rank coal supply

State electricity firm PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is opening pre-qualification tender for low rank coal suppliers for the operations of its coal-fired power plants.

The company in its pre-qualification announcement did not give detail about coal volume sought but said it was looking for coal mining concession holders which have coal measured reserves of at least 250 million tones and have entered into feasibility study stage with calorific value range of 4,800-5,400 kcal/kg (adb).

PLN did not give time table when the coal supply would commence and to which power plants. (alex)
