PLN opens pre-qualification tender for coal supply

State-owned electricity company PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) opened on Monday pre-qualification tender for the supply of coal to a 2x110 MW power plant in Riau and 2x110 MW power plant in East Kalimantan.
The company said in a tender announcement that the supply volume is estimated at about 1 million tons of coal per year, with contract duration of between 5-20 years.
Coal miners interested in participating in the tender can obtain the pre-qualification documents at the tender committee on the 5th floor of the PLN headquarters building on Jl Trunojoyo Block MI/135, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, by January 17 at the latest.
Participants must meet the following conditions. They must be miners with producing mines able to show valid documents including the PKP2B or IUP mining permits; must have experience in inter-island coal supply with minimum volume of 250,000 tons per year; and have mineable reserves of 4-15 million tons depending on the contract period with coal specifications as follows:
1.1. Gross Caloric Value (ar) : 3,900-4,700
1.2. Total Moisture (%ar) : 25-40
1.3. Total Sulfur (% daf) : 0.13-2.2
1.4. Ash Content (% ar) : 3.3-6
Other conditions include having the necessary work and budget plant, environmental AMDAL document, and valid exploitation permit.
Consortium participating in the tender comprise of a maximum of three companies with conditions detailed in the tender document.
