PLN opens tender for fuel oil supply

State electricity firm PLN announced on Tuesday pre-qualification bid to supply fuel oil to its power plants.

The company in an announcement posted in national newspapers said it invited Pertamina and other companies which had been licensed to sell fuel oil to participate in the bid.

Bidding documents could be obtained at PLN's head office from Feb 13-15, 2007, the announcement said.

The company did not give detail about the volume of the fuel it sought, but earlier director Ali Herman Ibrahim said PLN would open tender to import 1 million barrels of HSD this year in order to find cheapest supplier.

PLN?s fuel oil supplies is currently being monopolized by state oil and gas company PT.Pertamina. (alex)
