PLN opens tender for Kalbar-1 power plant project

KALBAR-1 COAL-FIRED INDEPENDENT POWER PRODUCER PROJECT
NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION
1. PT PLN (Persero) (?PLN?), a power utility company wholly owned by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia intends to procure the Kalbar-1 (2x100 MW) coal-fired independent power producer project in Tanjung Gunung, West Kalimantan (The ?Project?) through a competitive selection process (the ?Selection Process?).
2. PLN will extend an invitation for pre-qualificatiort to potential investors.
3. Through the pre-qualification process PLN intends to select applications that are eligible to participate in the Selection Process. PLN seeks to pre qualify interested parties who have relevant experience in implementing power generation projects with scope and size comparable to the Project and that meet the qualification criteria, based on certain business, technical, financial and legal criteria, that will be described in a pre-qualification document (the ?Pre-Qualification Document?).
4. Interested parties are invited to submit applications in accordance with the Pre-Qualification Document. Only?those applicants that demonstrate that they meet all of the criteria set forth in the Pre-Qualification Document will be invited to participate in the Selection Process.
5. In consideration of the Project?s strategic role to meet the electricity demand in the West Kalimantan grid system, PLN, in addition to its role as purchaser of electricity under the PPA, will have a stake in the development of the project in the form of a minority equity participation by PT Indonesia Power, a wholly owned subsidiary company of PLN, in the Project Company to be established jointly with theProject Sponsor(s). PT Indonesia Power will own a thirty five (35) percent equity stake and the Project Sponsor(s) will own the remaining sixty five (65) percent equity stake.
6. The Pre-Qualification Document will be available to those applicants that submit a letter of expression of interest and make payment of a non-refundable IDR 10 million (in cash), which can be collected from 2 up to 11 March 2015 from 09.00 am until 02.30 pm WIST at the following address:
