PLN opens tender for N. Sulawesi geothermal power project

ADB LOAN 1982-INO
RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT SECTOR PROJECT
The Republic of Indonesia has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Renewable Energy Development Sector Project. Part of this loan will use for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.
PT PLN (Persero) ("the Employer") invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the design, supply, construction, installation and commissioning of a complete geothermal power plant ("the Works") under the following Contract Package as part of the RED project:
Lahendong II Geothermal Power Plant Project (1 x 20 MW), North Sulawesi
Bidders may obtain further information from, and inspect the bidding documents, at the address below.
International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Two-stage: Two-envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries. Bidders must meet post qualification criteria as stipulate in the Bidding Document including experience as main contractor for geothermal power project and experience of the proposed turbine/generator supplier in manufacturing geothermal units with a minimum capacity of 20 MW.
A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested eligible bidders on submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of three million rupiah (Rp 3,000,000). The documents may collect from the address indicated below from 25 October 2004.
All bids must accompany by a security of a minimum of four hundred thousand dollars (US$400,000) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency and must deliver to the address below in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders on or before 25 January 2005. The bid security must be included with the technical proposal.
The technical proposals will open immediately in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.
In comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
